How To Be Saved

If you would like to know for certain that you are going to heaven when you die and would like to live a Christian life now, just pray this prayer out-loud and believe it in your heart.

"Dear God, I am a sinner. Please forgive me of my sin. I repent and ask you to fill my heart. I confess Jesus Christ is my Lord and believe in my heart that You (God) raised Him from the dead. Thank you God. In Jesus' Name, Amen."

If you prayed this prayer, please let us know so we can send you helpful information for your new Christian walk with Him. God bless you in your new walk with Him!

DEFINITIONS:

  • Sinner – Someone who has sinned, missed the mark, or broken one (or more) of God's commandments. If a person breaks only one commandment in his or her entire life, it is enough to cause God to sentence them to eternal punishment. Also, since all people born into the world after Adam and Eve's original sin are born into sin, we are all guilty of sin and must ask God's forgiveness.
  • Forgiveness – Is releasing someone from his or her sin, offense, or crime of breaking one (or more) of God's commandments. God can legally do this (according to His Word) because the penalty was paid in full by the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ His Son.
  • Repent – Means to turn away from doing or practicing sin. In order to successfully repent, a person should remove all temptations from his or her live that would make it easy for him or her to continue living in sin. It is a complete change of life and lifestyle. Once a person accepts Jesus Christ as his or her Lord and Savior, his or her life belongs to God. Now, you should live for Jesus, study His Word (the Bible), go to a church that believes and teaches the Bible as the inspired Word of God, and fellowship with other Christians.
  • Confess – Means to speak aloud with your mouth and let others know what you believe.

What Is Eternal Salvation?

Salvation is a gift that was paid for by the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. It was given to anyone who would repent, believe and confess that Jesus Christ is Lord and that He died and rose from the dead to save mankind (Acts 16:31; Romans 10:9-10). This gift cannot be earned through good deeds or by simply being "good" (Ephesians 2:8; 1 Timothy 1:9). It is a matter of faith (acting out on what you believe according to God's Word concerning salvation).

Jesus is alive and real. If you are looking for real peace in your life, Jesus is The Prince of Peace. Having a personal relationship with a loving God is the greatest thing in all the universe.

Why Do I Need Salvation?

Man is an eternal spirit. All of us have a spirit, soul, and body. The spirit is eternal and is who we really are. The soul is the mind, will, and emotions. The body is like an earth-suit that our spirit uses to live in the earth. In a way, it is like a space suit that astronauts (and cosmonauts) use when they are in space. The spirit will never die. But, it must leave the earth when our bodies die. Where we will spend eternity depends on one very important decision we make here on earth. We must decide who Jesus Christ really is (or was).Is Jesus (or was Jesus) a good man? A great prophet? A good teacher? Just an historical figure? Or, is He the Son of God? This is the great question. C.S. Lewis (1898-1963) wrote in his book, Mere Christianity:

...that people often say about Him: "I'm ready to accept Jesus as a great moral teacher, but I don't accept His claim to be God." That is the one thing we must not say. A man who was merely a man and said the sort of things Jesus said would not be a great moral teacher. He would either be a lunatic--on a level with the man who says he is a poached egg--or else he would be the Devil of Hell. You must make your choice. Either this man was, and is, the Son of God: or else a madman or something worse. You can shut Him up for a fool, you can spit at Him and kill Him as a demon; or you can fall at His feet and call Him Lord and God. But let us not come with any patronising nonsense about His being a great human teacher. He has not left that open to us. He did not intend to.
